Just got the word that Atsushi Kuroi has passed away after injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

i dont know about you guys but i used to love watching this guy ripping it up back in the day all the way up till recently

One of the first D1 guys i really started to follow with his agressive style.

thats sad... he was such an exciting driver and one of my favourite videos shows him doing one of the best qualifying runs in D1 history.. search youtube, you will find it

its a big loss to team toyo and drift in general. RIP :(

This is unbelievable. I have met Kuroi twice both times in America and both times he was super friendly and massively helpful. The first time was when we (team CTS) went over for the D1 world all stars with Christian driving and we were having trouble with the wheel alignment on the car...... he got his head mechanic to go over the car and realign it all by eye!!!

The second time was with Leighton at the Red Bull world championships and we asked him to help again with a wheel alignment issue on our car and he dropped whatever he was doing and came straight over and helped us solve the issues. Both times he helped with no request for anything in return and both times both Christian and Leighton said the car was 100% better after he worked his magic.

A absolute top bloke and a true legend of the sport he will be greatly missed

So sorry to hear the news :( He was, and always will be a massive inspiration for myself and thousands of drifters everywhere.
F**king awesome agressive driving, always pushing the margin and never holding back, and from everyone i've spoken to about him, a truely nice and generous person.

I'm am at a loss for words. Kuroi was the inspiration for my S13 going yellow and my favourite D1 driver.
