Wrexy: to be fair I would have gone the same except for Sonnen. There was no way he had any intention if standing with Rua.

Yep Overeem needs to get back on the test... just shows how much of a difference that stuff can make. dont care if thats a fair statement or not.

But to be fair to Michael Johnson, he was beating him to the punch every time and he did look crisp. But Lauzon was hardly anywhere near his best.

Apparently they are trying to put together Sonnen vs Machida after Silva nor the UFC showing much interesting in the Sonnen fight.

Bad fight for Machida I reckon. It will go much like the fight on the weekend.

Sonnen v Machida makes no sense.

Sonnen v Belfort - now that would be a top fight.... as long as BOTH fighters get test replacement approval or both get declined!

Oh and not in Brazil either!!!

Yeah that was brought up as well. But Vitor is declining all non title fights.

After the sonnen fight, Vitor went on twitter to say why are you calling out wander lei, fight me!

Maybe his management had a quiet word in his ear..... to stfu lol

It's all up in the air. Vitor will have to take another fight. The title will be on the line in December and who knows what will happen after that. Maybe a rubber match if Silva wins, maybe an injury, maybe a super fight. Fighters need to stay active.

*spoliers

New champ is born, how quick was that transition into a armbar??

And those few kicks did damage to Henderson.

Looks like it's out of Jones, aldo and pierre to pass silvas win record.

Knew Frank mir will loose, why stand there taking shots ffs

He looked like a idiot walking out with headphones

Clay guida needs to stop moving

I was really disappointed in the Mir fight. I was really looking forward to it and the 2 big men were throwing down. And then to have it stopped early by a retarded ref. So pissed and I feel for Mir.

Pettis looks the best of his career. I don't see many people being able to stop him for a while. He's made short work of some decent opponents recently.

Pettis will stop Pettis.. quite a few injuries in his career to date! Mir is fighting Overeem next! Bad, bad fight for Mir.

I was really looking forward to Mir vs Barnet too. Though i did have concerns they would both look old. I rate Barnetts striking slightly above Mir so I think he had the advantage anyway. I couldn't see Mir doing much more after he got dropped. It will be interesting to see where Barnett fits into the UFC roster.

Browne was a bad fight for Reem imo. They were trying to give Reem a gimme tuneup fight but Brownes KO ability was too much of a risk. Also it looks bad for him to lose against a relative no name. Mir is a better idea, bigger name, average striking...

Interesting how fighters can be successful at different weight classes. I say begone with a thousand different weight classes, just have three. Little *milkshakes*, regular *milkshakes* and big *milkshakes*. Sure less meaningless belts to fight for, but a lot more exciting match ups. Pride had the right idea.

There are far too many fighters now for that to work. The champs would have to fight every 2 weeks to keep up with challengers.

I think they could merge 125 and 135 into a single weight class (130). If some of the 135ers couldn't make 130, then go up to 145. If the 125ers complain, it's the same as the heavy weight diversion where the 2 extremes of the weight classes will have discrepancies. It will never happen though.

What annoys me is the way fights are judged, especially after hearing Rogan explain why it's a 10 point system. It's taken from boxing where if you knock the other boxer down you get a 10-9 round. Knock them down twice and it's a 10-8 round. I think they should take a page out of drifting's book. Fighters get 5-5 if they get a draw and depending who wins the round the most, the balance changes (7-3).

What a fight between Jones and Guss. I thought the only person that would take it to bones was guss and he certainly did that. I wasn't upset at the decision it could of gone either way and really I think you have to beat the champ convincingly to take the belt, bring on the rematch.

Diego dc and cain made ufc 166

I found cain jds 3 basically a better cain jds 2. But jds did get ko'd in the 3rd and should have been stopped.

Diego slugged it out, but found him to be a very basic fighter.

Dc is the man, looked sharp and on point the whole time, slowed down a little towsrds the end tho. Never lost a round ever, and got a perfect 30 each round. Perfect

I agree. I was never a big fan of Cormier, and he doesn't really have a highlight reel of finishes, or any finishes really. But he's incredibly technical and comes in 100% prepared for his opponents. When he drops to 205 he's going to give Jones big problems.

Cain vs JDS might not have been the most exciting fight, but it was damn technical. Both fighters came in as better versions of themselves and pretty much cancelled each other out. Cain got hit with some big shots, but his chin held up and he dominated JDS again with his pace. I don't think round 3 should have been stopped, but it was certainly a 10-8 round to Cain. The stoppage was very justified too. People are saying JDS knocked himself out, but he was already badly beaten and Cain was about to unload on him as he was face planted.

I always thought DC had a lot of potential purely from his pedigree - Olympic level wrestler. Would have to be tough as nails to get to that level, proper insane. I really would have liked him to see him fight JDS before going down to LHW. I dont see him beating Cain though, not that they would ever fight.

I gave JDS the slight edge going into the rematch with Cain but could easily see it going either way. JDS seemed too focused on the KO and didnt have much of a plan B. Now he will be in the heavyweight wilderness, would have to win a lot more fights to get another shot at the title, unless Cain loses it. All credit to Cain though he is so aggressive and relentless, with so much heart. Most other fighters probably wouldnt have recovered from that flash KO in the first. He really is a level above, very smart fighter with a complete skill set.

Anyone watch TUF anymore? I didn't realise Rhonda was such an emotional little bitch. Women fights were more bearable than i expected. That Roxanne chick was really likeable.

Yeah I don't think dc can beat cain too. And on that note, I don't think Jon jones could beat roy nelson, and dc did it with ease hence why I think dc will do great as a light heavy

Watching tuf also, ronda rousy boyfriend shits me, the girls are having some good fights

Pound for pound I reckon jds has more knockout power and if they kept in the middle would have been a better fight to watch

But Cain is too smart his shitty dog shit style got jds where he kept held of jds and pounded away at him not very entertaining but got the job done

JDS is the new Chael Sonnen. Forever in limbo as #2 in the division. He just needs to stay on track, build up a string of wins and he'll be first in line when/if Cain loses to someone.

Agree about Rousey. I'm really starting to dislike her. What a emotional whingy bitch. Constant complaining and crying. I'm definitely rooting for Tate in the rematch.

Anyone watch the GSP vs Hendricks fight last weekend? What did you guys think?

Personally I thought it was one of the worst judging calls in a title fight ever. How can you get beaten up as bad as GSP did and still be called the winner. Shocking.

Worst game plan ever.

Stand and trade with a knockout specialist... who ever decided on that should be fired.

But if you want my 2c it was GSP's idea to beat hendricks at his own game, which he didnt do and should have done more takedowns/kicks/jabs

Yeah I think GSP always goes out with something to prove. This is his first opponent who could out wrestle him and control the fight. GSP had no choice but to jab with the random head kick. It was obviously GSP was the better kicker and could keep Hendricks at a distance he couldn't punch at. If GSP focused his gameplan on that, he could have KOd Hendricks with a head kick. Instead he was forced into a brawl and got beaten up. It did seem like Hendricks did coast in the final round and GSP did win that round. But Hendricks dominated nearly every other moment of the fight.

I purposely stayed offline & watched the fight the next day. I also watched it without sound as I'm sick of Joe Rogan's bias commentary. Rd 1 & 2 were close, 3 was GSP's, 4 was Hendricks' and 5 was GSPs.

In Rd2 Hendricks landed the bigger shots and wobbled GSP but GSP out struck him considerably, he caught up from Rd1 and overtook him in total strikes. I gave the fight to GSP after watching the whole thing in silence.

I like Rogan's commentary. He seems to side with the underdog and explains what they need to do to win the fight. Not 100% throughout the fight, but hints here and there.

I gave GSP rounds 3 and 5.

I used to like Rogan's commentary but it's become so bias that it influences how everybody views the fight and he constantly pushes the 10th Planet BJJ terms. For example what is known as rubber guard in BJJ he intentionally calls 'mission control' to promote 10th Planet's terminologies which is a conflict of interest.

I'd rather listen to Kenny Florian. Better yet get Sonnen in there once he retires as he's exciting, funnny and has that fighter's knowledg e compared to Rogan.

Rogan uses the term rubber guard quite often as well. I'm sure it's more of a habit than trying to promote something.
