Was in SE Asia for the last 5 Weeks (Macau, HK, Philippines, Brunei), glad to be back in a way of all the small things, like clean water, my own bed etc...

But getting back into work has been challenging.

far out a month in thailand!!!!!!! 2 weeks and i was trashed... haha

Closest thing to that i get is whenever i go back to Adelaide, i honestly can't wait to get back to the gold coast... haha

Travelling overseas has always inspired me to work harder at home to be able to travel whenever i want.

If you love your life/job then you shouldn't be depressed about coming home! If you really do enjoy thailand then possibly look at working or starting a business over there!

I have talked to a few bar/club owners who far prefer the lifestyle over there to what they had in Australia!

Sorry Blacky, will reply to your PM shortly, just a little busy running around..

But i know how you feel.. I did a two week stint in Thailand with the now Ex-gf and mate, returning home... I HATED it.... we were so used to the Thai culture and the way of life.. sleeping in, beaching it, living like king and queen. Then returning to shitty old melbourne and its weather... A day doesn't pass where i wish i could go back...

Ill be returning.. with the boys next year, and doing USA as well.. BRING IT!

I did 5 weeks in Japan in Nov last year, came back to Aus for 3 months of hell dreaming of Ebisu, In that 3 months, saved up, packed up and moved to Japan, best thing I ever did. If it wasnt drift and Japan it would have been some other country, i think some people just need to get out and do different things to keep life interesting. I know I get bored in 1 place.

I wanna know if anyone has made a bold move like this and realized it's a "grass is always greener" type situation?

The last time I was on a plane was for schoolies back in 2002 and everyone else I know has travelled lots. Almost tempted to sell my car and f**k off somewhere before I get tied down with a new job.

just dont become one of those people who ALWAYS talks about how things are over seas.... seriously. Fair enough stories etc when you're first back. I work with somebody who just talks about travelling ALL THE TIME... frustrating

I'm sure when I return home I will be kicking myself, but at the moment I'm kind of over living where I am. (Whistler, BC, Canada)

Summer was amazing, and I'm sure during Winter as a tourist this place is great, but to be honest it kind of beats you down living here during Winter. The days are short, the pay is lousy, the rent and living costs are high and in order to socialise, you need to drink a lot and eat shit food. It's hard to stay healthy, and it gets old quickly.

I want to be here for another Summer but don't want to be here for a whole Winter.

Ha I'm off to Thailand for a month from the 25th December and I've been counting down the days for weeks! I never really recovered from my trip to Byron a few months ago. I've been planning my move to Byron ever since I got back. Melbourne is to cold and to far from the surf for me so when I'm back from Thailand I'm gonna rock a couple of months more work and then I out!!!!!! I can't wait!! I've been trying not just to throw it all in till after Thailand as I'm getting holiday pay the whole time I'm there so it'd be dumb to pass that up. COME ON 25TH of DECEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It happened to me when i went to NZ.

Hell, it happens to me every time i travel, even when i go to Melbourne or Adelaide and see how close to the CBD all the cheap housing is, and how little traffic there is.

The only thing stopping me from moving to any of these locations is friends and family.

Spent 6 weeks in Europe skipping through countries.

I loved coming home, made me appreciate everything I have and the amazing part of the world that is Australia.

Wouldn't mind seeing the USA, but I love Australia.

A 'grass is greener' mentality will only make you permanently anxious about your situation, and eventually nothing will feel good enough for you.

Travel is inspiring, but all it does is make me appreciate home even more.

I completely agree.

I really like the idea of living in a lot of places in my lifetime for short periods of time, but realistically I think Australia will always be home.

Haha fair question - it was Western Europe. UK/ France/Italy.

Beautiful places, friendly people.

Had our own car so weren't tied to an agenda.

Living holiday to holiday is a depressing thought. But if you're going to do that, then having a good life at home will make the wait a lot easier!

yer there was a mob just of soi 8 who i was talking with about a tattoo, but they were hella pushy lol so i ditched the idea.

i didnt live like a superstar actaully. was on a tight budget and didnt go to crazy, i dont like being drunk everyday maybe once or twice a week is good. i dont do drugs either so. im purely inlove with the convenience of thailand. you can do anything you want. its awesome the freedom is mad... thats what i miss. even stopping and waiting at a redlight is crep here

i plan to move there for a year or so, just got to sort out stuff here first thou!!! argh lol
